At Daedalus Environmental Limited, we deliver sustainable design services to the built environment sector.

We operate and support projects relating to both existing and new build developments, tailoring services for private and public sector clients.

With over 20 years’ of experience in the field of sustainability, we have an excellent understanding of our clients’ requirements and provide expert and personalised support, matched with cost effective delivery.

We are based in the South East of England and operate across the UK.

Services – New Build

Planning

We can produce energy and sustainability strategies and can input into Environmental Impact Assessments on behalf of clients for new developments. We have provided this service to over 300 successful new sites to date. We maintain an in-depth knowledge of local and national planning requirements, addressing these in the most cost effective way possible.

Renewable Energy

We provide advice and guidance to clients on how to integrate renewable energy technologies into new developments, in relation to both achieving a required energy and carbon reduction and in meeting more challenging planning targets.

Sustainable Construction

We regularly provide advice and support relating to all other aspects of sustainable design and construction, supporting Environmental Impact Assessments for larger scale developments. In particular, we are able to input into both climate change and waste management assessments.

Compliance

We supply Part L compliance calculations and EPC certification for new build developments using SAP and SBEM methodologies. We also carry out Dynamic Simulation Modelling for more complex structures and, as such, are able to assist teams in sustainably designing new buildings, reducing overheating risk and establishing recognised levels of energy performance.

Daylight and Sunlight

We can complete daylight and sunlight assessments for internal and external spaces to help ensure high quality design and fully useable and habitable spaces. We increasingly provide these to support planning applications and to satisfy Development Control, as well as for inclusion in the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM assessments.

Climate Change

Future proofing new developments against the anticipated impacts of a changed climate is increasingly important for the built environment. We provide adaptation design modelling and advice to support more robust buildings and habitable environments for the future.

Services – Retrofit

Project Development

We have considerable experience in the development and design of energy focused retrofit projects for the public sector and housing associations, including property and data analysis, identification of measures, cost planning, procurement and implementation strategy. We can design and support the development of renewable energy projects from individual properties to large scale community schemes.

Project Co-ordination

We are able take to a lead role in the ongoing coordination and administration of retrofit and renewables schemes, working with designers, suppliers, contractors, building owners and residents to ensure the most effective outcomes for all parties.

Funding and Finance

We have proven experience in the development of funding bids and packages for new projects and, depending on the nature of the scheme, we often work at risk in the initial stages to secure funding in order to support implementation and delivery. We take a portfolio approach to projects and have a wide knowledge of existing funding streams for this sector.
